It is a mess down here. Roads are closed everywhere and people are stuck in between. Bill (her husband) is on his way here now from Gainesville. My office in Lake City is closed now that the county emergency management has closed Columbia County. Suwannee County where I live has the Suwannee River on three sides of the county. It is going to be a bigger mess as the rain is not stopping for a few ...
The National Hurricane Center finally designated Invest 95L as Tropical Storm at 5PM EST, thus we now have our third named storm of the season. However, this system does not warrant a significant discussion due to it's effect not being felt in any major populated or civillian area. Although, Shipping intrests and of course Pilots of long haul commerical flights, should deviate around the storm. Invest 95L orignated close to Bermuda and maintained a trajectory to the NW before being caught up and...

To understand the track and strength of such a rare system, you must go back to its orgins, it was an area of thunderstorms that was left over after a trough disintegrated over the western carribean. The National Hurricane Center gave it a Zero percent chance of forming, shear was too hostile, it would never form, they said. It dropped a tremendous amount of rain over the Cayman islands and Central Cuba, it was thrust NE by a trough of low pressure it was still connected too. The next day, a 70m...
